I claim total ignorance on the subject of dowsing other than seeing it performed on television shows in search of water or whatever. Gundella's take on the art is that the divining rod is merely a tool for the practitioner's own ESP. That's right, just like a homing pigeon's innate sense of direction she believed that our own internal compasses were present though often neglected. Maybe I'll try out the suggestions she provided with my 4 year old and see if it works. That way if I make a fool of myself she'll just ring it up as another instance of my sillyness.
