Richard from Livonia writes in to discuss his bout of astral projection from a recent surgery. He floated above and watched the entire procedure.
Gundella responded that there are several mode of astral projection or "out-of-body travel" or "soul travel." It could literally happen at any time during sleep, wakeful consciousness or anesthetic.
The interesting aspect that she mentions is that the spirit leaves the body like a ghost. If this is so, and I don't believe it for a minute, then how does one discriminate between a live ghost and a dead one?
She mentions the Stuart Holroyd anthology entitled Psychic Voyages as a good starting point for fully conscious soul leaving.
