I'm fairly certain that the "witch" mentioned here is none other than Lady Athena (aka Lois Umerska) and that the out of town man was a high priest named Dr. Leo Louis Martello since they indeed held a ceremony of the sort just a few months before this article appeared. I happened across it while searching for Gundella and looked into Umerska a little with not too surprising results. She was accused, tried and found guilty of bilking an old lady out of money not long after the wedding of witches took place so it's not hard to see why Gundella railed against her. I'll acquiesce in that direction myself considering the source.
